Amgen's Aimovig successful in late-stage study in treatment-resistant migraine
Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) announces successful results from a Phase 3b clinical trial, LIBERTY, evaluating Aimovig (erenumab) in patients with episodic migraine who have failed two to four prior treatments.
The study met the primary endpoint demonstrating a statistically significantly greater proportion of patients experiencing at least a 50% reduction from baseline in monthly migraine days compared to placebo. All secondary endpoints were also met.
No new safety signals were reported.
Complete data will be submitted for presentation at an upcoming scientific conference.
The company's U.S. marketing application is currently under FDA review with an action date of May 17. Novartis will co-commercialize.

There are a few companies who have great science but weak managements. I just can't get behind a weak management. Very few of them ever fix their problems without a management change. I have a list of bad actors. Some are worse then others, but all have had management miss steps.
They are PTLA, BLCM, OMER, TGTX, are of the least offenders. These are the ones where the management still has some redeemable qualities. Then there are the ones I would not touch with a 10' pole like XON and ZIOP. GILD and CELG are somewhere in the middle.
