--------------
Goldman Sachs is raising its price target on Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD) from $27 to $29, but is reaffirming its Sell rating.
The company's Q4 EPS and EBITDA results of $0.44 and $350 million came in well below the firm's $0.68 and $447 million estimates. During the conference call; management highlighted the company’s funding strategy, offered steps to recover EBITDA and identified $3.6 billion in additional sources of funds from revolvers, cash on hand and inventory reductions.
An analyst at Goldman comments, "While we are confident that management’s actions have created sufficient liquidity, we are less convinced that a turnaround is on the near-term horizon, particularly under an intensifying promotional environment. With the stock trading at a lofty 52X EBITDA, we believe an overly optimistic scenario is being discounted by the market."
Goldman raised its FY12 and FY13 EPS estimates from ($8.90) and ($9.30) to ($8.59) and ($8.91).
