Since publishing our note this morning (link) we received clarification from AMRN management that the REDUCE-IT interim results could be submitted to the FDA if the study is stopped early at the interim analysis (expected 2016) due to overwhelming efficacy. For the purposes of the FDA considering the SPA agreement and label expansion, the data would be considered the final data even if the study is stopped early. We continue to believe the most likely scenario is that REDUCE-IT will run to completion (data 1H18) but re-establish the interim analysis next year as having the potential to be a catalyst for the shares.
