BP anuncia un deterioro gordo de sus activos por rebajar las expectativas futuras de precios de petróleo y gas :
"BP will be run for oil at $55 a barrel, instead of around $75 — after adjusting for the previous $70 figure being in 2015 prices.
It’s also assuming 31 per cent lower Henry Hub gas prices. And that forces a mechanical writedown of BP’s $130 billion fixed and $15.5 billion intangible assets."
Se prevé que abandone varios proyectos, ¿afectará a lo de Golar? Hablan de Canadá, Golfo de México o Angola:
"Oil and gas discoveries in deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico and off the coast of Angola and oil sands projects in Canada are likely to be among those abandoned by BP, according to City sources.
In its last annual report, BP had just over $14 billion of “intangible assets” related to exploration and appraisal expenditure — essentially money sunk into searching for oil and gas in the past 20 years in fields where it has yet to develop its discoveries. Of this, $2 billion to $3 billion lies in each of the Gulf of Mexico, Canada and Brazil, with $1 billion to $2 billion each in Angola, the Middle East and Egypt.
Between $8 billion and $10 billion in total is now expected to be written off, with BP handing back its exploration rights to the host country or holding assets in the hope of finding buyers in future if prices rebound."
