FED/BOC/BOE/BoJ/ECB/SNB: announce "Coordinated CB Action to Address
Pressures in Global Money Markets". They lower pricing on existing
US$ swaps by 50 bp so the new rate will be OIS+50bp. This pricing will
be applied to all operations conducted from Dec 5, 2011. Swaps
availability extended to Feb 1, 2013. In addition, BOE, BoJ, ECB and
SNB will continue to offer 3m tenders until further notice. As a
contingency, these central banks also agreed to establish temporary
bilateral liquidity swaps to be used if market conditions warrant. "At
present, there is no need to offer liquidity in non-domestic currencies
other than US$, but the central banks judge it prudent to make the
necessary arrangements." Fed says "U.S. financial institutions currently
do not face difficulty obtaining liquidity in short-term funding mkts.
However, were conditions to deteriorate, the Fed has a range of tools
available to provide an effective liquidity backstop for such
institutions and is prepared to use these tools as needed."
